<dc:description>The essay tries to show a positive appreciation of the city, disregarding the negative aspects, which are widely widespread. It assumes that if there is such a thing as a new paradigm of communion, then the city as it is nowadays configured in huge metropolitan areas is an integral dimension of this new paradigm. The global cities and the whole planet are urban, yet there are still areas that function as countryside and natural regions, but its governance depends on decisions taken in the city. Next the city is presented as a net of different links or a dynamic knot of relationships. These links are a synthesis of matter, energy, information, communications, and communion. There is an urban metabolism that constantly transforms nature. After reviewing society-nature relationship, there is an approach to the philosophical dimension of dwelling in a place. I finally conclude presenting the actual urban world as a sacrament.</dc:description>
