<dc:description>Este artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar as funções e os possíveis usos do Livro de Horas 50, 1, 016. Segundo o estudo desenvolvido pelo medievalista François Avril, este códice foi produzido pelo Mestre de Coetivy (também chamado de Colin d’Amiens) por volta de 1460 em Paris e, atualmente, faz parte do fundo histórico da Fundação Biblioteca Nacional do Rio de Janeiro. Neste sentido, nossa intenção é apresentar o contexto de criação e popularização dos Livros de Horas na Europa latina medieval para, posteriormente, realizarmos um estudo de caso sobre o códice que pertenceu à Casa do Infantado da Real Biblioteca Portuguesa. <mods:abstract>Este artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar as funções e os possíveis usos do Livro de Horas 50, 1, 016. Segundo o estudo desenvolvido pelo medievalista François Avril, este códice foi produzido pelo Mestre de Coetivy (também chamado de Colin d’Amiens) por volta de 1460 em Paris e, atualmente, faz parte do fundo histórico da Fundação Biblioteca Nacional do Rio de Janeiro. Neste sentido, nossa intenção é apresentar o contexto de criação e popularização dos Livros de Horas na Europa latina medieval para, posteriormente, realizarmos um estudo de caso sobre o códice que pertenceu à Casa do Infantado da Real Biblioteca Portuguesa. Assim, nossa proposta será examinar de que forma a união entre textos e imagens poderia ser utilizada como ferramentas de expressão visual e de devoção laica na Paris da Baixa Idade Média à luz do conceito de humanização do sagrado defendido pelo medievalista Jean-Claude Schmitt.</mods:abstract>
<mods:abstract>The main objective of this article is to analyze the functions and possible uses of the Book of Hours 50, 1, 016 According to the study carried out by the medievalist François Avril, this codex was produced by the Master of Coetivy (also referred to as Colin d'Amiens) around 1460 in Paris and is, currently, part of the historical fund of the National Library Foundation of Rio de Janeiro. In this sense, our intention is to present the context of creation and popularization of the Books of Hours in medieval Latin Europe to subsequently conduct a case study on the codex that belonged to the Casa do Infantado of the Royal Portuguese Library. Within this context, our intention will be to examine how the union between texts and images could be used as tools of visual ex- pression and laity devotion in the Late Middle Ages Paris from the concept of humanization of the sacred defended by the medievalist Jean-Claude Schmitt.</mods:abstract>

Segundo o estudo desenvolvido pelo medievalista François Avril, este códice foi produzido pelo Mestre de Coetivy (também chamado de Colin d’Amiens) por volta de 1460 em Paris e, atualmente, faz parte do fundo histórico da Fundação Biblioteca Nacional do Rio de Janeiro. Neste sentido, nossa intenção é apresentar o contexto de criação e popularização dos Livros de Horas na Europa latina medieval para, posteriormente, realizarmos um estudo de caso sobre o códice que pertenceu à Casa do Infantado da Real Biblioteca Portuguesa. Assim, nossa proposta será examinar de que forma a união entre textos e imagens poderia ser utilizada como ferramentas de expressão visual e de devoção laica na Paris da Baixa Idade Média à luz do conceito de humanização do sagrado defendido pelo medievalista Jean-Claude Schmitt.</dc:description>
