Deskribapen:: Alternative schools are valuable because they explore non-conventional models which may contain the keys for a global educational change. The three alternative schools analysed for this research through ethnographic and biographic-narrative approaches emerged as an answer to failure and other injustices occurring in traditional schools (violence, exclusion, authoritarianism, cultural imperialism, unsustainability, etc.). This allows us to analyse how a model against the legitimation and perpetuation of these social and environmental injustices is constructed. The article will delve into how alternative schools lay the foundations for a more just world through self-knowledge, self-esteem and respect, questioning the effectiveness of traditional schools in terms of values, peace, respect, coexistence and participation. Results show us how to organise a school which recognises each person, allows participation, distributes resources equally and trains students who can detect injustices and mobilise against them.; La escuela alternativa es valiosa por explorar modelos no convencionales que pueden darnos las claves para un cambio educativo global. Las tres escuelas alternativas que han sido analizadas mediante aproximación etnográfica y enfoque biográfico-narrativo, surgieron como respuesta al fracaso y a las injusticias de la escuela tradicional (violencia, exclusión, autoritarismo, imperialismo cultural, insostenibilidad…), lo que nos permite analizar cómo se construye un modelo que busca no continuar legitimando y perpetuando estas injusticias sociales y ambientales. El artículo profundiza sobre cómo las escuelas alternativas asientan las bases para la consecución de un mundo más justo a través del autoconocimiento, la autoestima y el respeto, poniendo en tela de juicio la eficacia del trabajo realizado tradicionalmente en la escuela sobre los valores, la paz, el respeto, la convivencia o la participación. Los resultados obtenidos nos muestran cómo es posible asentar la base de una escuela que reconozca a cada individuo, permita participar, distribuya los recursos equitativamente y forme a un alumnado capaz de detectar las injusticias y movilizarse contra ellas.
