<dc:description>This essay aims to describe the use Argentine university libraries make of Twitter service. The stated hypothesis claims that Argentine university libraries use the social network: Twitter only to communicate their users the latest news, cultural activities and opening hours. To collect the necessary information, 15 accounts from university libraries were traced during three months. The gathered information was sorted out according to five categories: self-diffusion, re-diffusion of information, cultural extension, and recommendation and interaction user’s service. This enabled us to focus the analysis on the type of information transmitted and to check the resulting exchange between the libraries and their uses. No suggestions are given to improve the exchange mentioned.</dc:description>
