Descripción:: La dependencia emocional es una consecuencia de la creación cultural del concepto del amor construido en la sociedad occidental, que a través de la reproducción de valores y creencias en torno al mismo, influyen en la falta de autonomía y libertad de las mujeres. Estos mecanismos suponen una forma de control social de su afectividad y sexualidad que imposibilitan su pleno desarrollo. A través de un trabajo etnográfico en el Barrio del Realejo, en Granada, visibilizaremos como mujeres occidentales que supuestamente son consideradas empoderadas realmente tienen ciertas limitaciones en su autonomía y libertad debido a su dependencia emocional respecto a los hombres.; Emotional dependency is a result of cultural creation of the concept of love built in Western society, that through the reproduction of values and beliefs around it, influencing the lack of autonomy and freedom of women. These mechanisms involve a form of social control of their emotions and sexuality that prevent their full development. Through an ethnographic work in the neighborhood of Realejo in Granada, we will visualize as Western women who are supposedly considered truly empowered have certain limitations in their autonomy and freedom because of their emotional dependence on men.
