La lectura aquí propuesta parte de insertarlo en la tradición de un tópico, la aurea mediocritas, como marco de intertextualidad. Afirmación (Horacio), inversión (Quevedo) y negación (Rimbaud) son los tres momentos elegidos en la trayectoria del tópico, para concluir que Guillen propone una síntesis, con implicaciones de ética estética, entre la norma clásica y la modernidad problemática.</dc:description>
