Description:: Los latinoamericanos han mitificado la corrupción percibiéndola como algo fuera de control, sobre todo frente a los recurrentes escándalos que involucran a personalidades políticas. Sin embargo, en los últimos tiempos algunos sistemas judiciales nacionales, no sin sobresaltos, están tramitando por la vía institucional esos contenciosos, siendo capaces de imponer sanciones ejemplarizantes a altas figuras. Una lectura actualizada de la fenomenología de la corrupción permite concluir en la necesidad de promover estrategias anticorrupción locales y nacionales que complementen a las internacionales, y no lo contrario como es el caso actual.
