  5. <skos:note lang="es">Josep Palau Oller (Barcelona, 1888 - 1961) fue un diseñador y pintor catalán. Asistió a las academias particulares de Joaquim Torres Canosa y Joan Baixas. De estudiante empezó a trabajar como dibujante de tejidos y estampados y conoció a Josep Mompou i Dancausse, quien se convirtió en su mejor amigo. Entre las obras más conocidas de los años jóvenes de Josep Palau Oller se puede mencionar los dibujos satíricos de la revista Papitu, hechos entre 1909 y 1910 e influidos por Ismael Smith. En 1916 se casó con Eulàlia Fabre con quien tuvo un hijo. Pronto después empezó a trabajar diseñando juguetes, lámparas, muebles y todo tipos de objetos de decoración. Josep Palau Oller creó casi ocho mil modelos de muebles diferentes. Los rasgos típicos de sus muebles son: líneas delicadas pero contundentes, ligeros arqueados en los respaldos, las proporciones justas y maderas bien escogidas. El tono voluntariamente discreto, también muy propio de Badrinas. Junto con su mujer abrió tiendas de diseño en las calles Mallorca, Caspe, Diputación y la Rambla de Cataluña y así introdujo los nuevos movimientos de las artes aplicadas que venía de Europa en Barcelona. Además Josep Palau Oller seguía pintando y haciendo exposiciones de sus obras, aunque nunca alcanzó un gran éxito como pintor. Ahora sus obras junto con las obras de otras más destacados pintores catalanes de su colección se presentan en la Fundació Palau, creado por su hijo Josep Palau i Fabre quien manteniía su colleción y la hizo crecer.</skos:note>

Quizás le permtió, ser un buen dibujante, de trazo seguro y limpio. Entre los temas elegidos por el artista cabe destacar los bodegones, flores y paisajes.
