- The article discusses the question of the retroactive reading (el après coup), i.e. posterior reading which reveals the symptom. Texts as events that retroactively modify the present are of deferred character: the causality follows the event. Such a reading aims at a different articulation of the past, the present and the future; it permits (and it is evident that by means of reconnecting with psychoanalysis) to establish the archeology of a living past, which would examine how the past is experienced in the present, how it is encoded in the documents stored in archives, in the semantic evolution, in the tradition, as stated in Lacan’s famous text “The Function and Field of Speech and Language in Psychoanalysis”. The texts allow us to read the future; they invent new discursive forms (social relations) and possibilities, laws and power conveyed in them are an integral part of the truth they create.
- Una propuesta de lectura retroactiva (el après coup): las lecturas hechas con posterioridad que revelan a su vez el síntoma. Textos que son acontecimientos que modifican retroactivamente el presente, son de acción retardada o diferida: la causalidad después del suceso. Se trata de una articulación distinta del pasado, del presente y del futuro; nos permite (y es evidente que establezco nexos con el psicoanálisis) fundar una arqueología del pasado viviente – cómo se vive el pasado en los monumentos, en los documentos de archivos, en la evolución semántica, en los rastros, en la tradición, como dice un famoso texto de Lacan, “Función y campo de la palabra y del lenguaje en psicoanálisis”. Son textos que nos permiten leer el futuro; inventan una nueva forma de discurso –vínculo social– cuyas posibilidades y leyes y poder son inseparables de la verdad que crean.
