<dc:description>This paper is aimed at determine the ethical rules for citizen-made journalism in a context characterized of the raising of participation in the information production by the Web users. The analysis is centered on the traditional journalism values, questioning about their applicability on the citizen journalism. At the same time is considered how it could be a higher commitment of citizens with others humanity. Finally, it is proposed to abandon a deontological strategy to adopt an ethics of motivation that shows the benefits of behaving honestly and respectfully</dc:description>
<dc:description>En un contexto de creciente participación en la producción de información gracias a la Web, el artículo intenta determinar los estándares éticos exigibles al periodismo amateur y espontáneo de los ciudadanos. A partir de la descripción de los valores del periodismo tradicional, se cuestiona si son aplicables de la misma manera en el periodismo ciudadano. Paralelamente se plantea cómo exigir el compromiso de los ciudadanos con la humanidad del otro, donde se propone pasar de una deontología a una ética de la motivación que explicite los beneficios de un actuar honesto y respetuoso.</dc:description>
